Final Fantasy XIV Square Enix’s massively multiplayer online RPG is getting Stormblood expansion, will launch simultaneously across North America, Europe, and Japan on June 20, 2017. Square Enix announced at Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2016 in Tokyo.
Final Fantasy XIV : Stormblood adds Red Mage, swimming and new raids. The “Red Mage” is a new job set to appear in Stormblood , Red Mage is a DPS who uses ranged magic. It’s similar to Black Mage but uses a rapier and magicked crystal medium (tentative name) as a weapon.
New swimming actions were also announced, though not all bodies of water will be accessible for swimming. Characters will auto-switch to swim mode upon entering an accessible body of wate.
When you visit the new areas you will visit new people and this includes new beast tribes. One of the new beast tribes coming to Stormblood include the Ananta, who live in the Ala Mhigan outlands. They’re oppressed by the Garleans and have existed since the time of the Allagans. They’re known for their skil in spell- and gemcraft. They believe in a goddess known as “Lakshmi, the Lady of Bliss.”
New alliance raids are also being added. With 3.5, The First Raid “The Bend of Time – Omega,” Omega is a monster burried beneath the Carteneau Flats, and is said to be a captive of Bahamut in Allagan literature. The Second raid Return to Ivalice,” which is being written by Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy Tactics creator Yasumi Matsuno with illustrations by Keita Amemiya.
A collector’s edition will also be available and it includes:
- A special package featuring original art by Yoshitaka Amano

- Cloth map of Eorzea

- Syldra MOunta
- Wind-up Bartz Minion
- Red Mage Main Arm: Chicken Knife
