After Nintendo delivered a cease and desist notice to a fan-developed game Pokémon Prism has now leaked to the web. Adam “Koolboyman” Vierra received a letter from the Nintendo requesting his project immediately stop production, he promptly obliged, shutting down both the website and the unreleased game.
The game would have allowed players to explore the new region of Naljo, as well as encounter both familiar and new Pokémon. Now, however, some disgruntled fans have hacked the ROM and released it into the wild.
Kotaku contacted the pirates, they said that Nintendo could have used Pokémon Prism as a means to promote the entire Pokémon franchise, but instead, the company decided to destroy the hard work of fans for no reason and no gain.
