We all know that the next Borderlands is in development. Though we’ve still yet to see what the game actually looks like. Today , Gearbox Software’s Randy Pitchford took to the stage at Epic Game’s GDC press conference to show off some of the Unreal Engine tech the company is using to power the next Borderlands game.
Pitchord made sure to clarify that the scenes shown were a technology demonstration, not a game. “It’s a very Borderlands-looking production asset in Unreal,” Pitchford said.
The presentation quickly went from showing off simple shapes to characters and entire scenes that looked game ready. He didn’t show an actual game, but he showed assets that appeared game-ready, and said that this “really incredible technology” is what Gearbox would use for current and future hardware technology.
Pitchford also confirmed that Gearbox is working on a new Borderlands title and that we’d hear about it soon.
These images are pulled from the Twitch stream so they aren’t perfect quality but they give you a decent idea. Take a look at it.
